Now here is some long term planning. Auckland Anniversary weekend is the usual time for the Auckland champs for the Starlings and Optimists, which runs for 3 days Saturday to Monday. This involves 200-250 boats. Racing on the Monday is counted towards the Auckland Anniversary racing which has its own separate prizegiving a couple of weeks later.

In 2021 this may clash with the Prada Cup which is the elimination series to select the challenger for the America cup. Rather than move the Auckland champs to another time we have been able to schedule the Auckland champs on January 29th - 1st February at Murrays Bay. The plan is to have our races early in the day and finish in time to go down to Devonport to watch the Prada Cup racing which doesn't start until 4.00pm. Since the roads will be busy it might be best to go by boat. Whilst we will remind you from time to time, don't forget to book your accommodation early as Auckland will be bursting at the seams. Don't forget this is 2021
